Resolution Schesolution
No, don’t ask, I don’t make them.
Had a good time at the Lan Party Saturday night/Sunday Morning (We didn’t really stop until after the sun came up) though I could have been a bit more blitzed. Apparently 70 proof vodka can’t do it for me anymore. Of course, I wasn’t drinking very quickly, since it’s not easy to chug Code Red. I think I need a new mixer. Or at least a couple of shooters to start out so that everything else goes down easy. It seemed real easy to drink after that one shot of tequila. I barely got out of my talking in funny accents stage of drinking. I only had like 15 minutes of everything is funny, and that’s as far as it went. No bother. A good time was had by all, and cleanup was a breeze. (The advantage of paper plates and mostly beer bottles.)
Also, the weekend turned up Voyager season 4, which I’ve been hunting down for months. Apparently Mike’s had it since before he left for Jersey, and even though I coulda sworn I asked him, I hadn’t. I nearly choked him Saturday when he owned up.
The other plus of the weekend was the ‘Skins pulling it out on Philly and going to the playoffs. They’ve had to win five straight to do it, but they got there. They have to face Tampa Bay next week, so who knows how far we’ll make it. I’m not sure it matters, since the AFC teams are so strong anyway. Washington had to fight to get their 10th win to make the playoffs, and KC had the same record and couldn’t even get a wildcard spot. I’m thinking the only NFC team with a prayer for the Landry Trophy is Seattle. And who thought that sentence would ever be uttered. However, it’s the playoffs, and anything can happen.
The best part of the football season? The Eagles became the first team in history to make a Superbowl appearance and then go 0-6 within their division. I guess that’s only slightly better than having the dubious distinction of going first in the 2006 draft. Especially at 2-14. Ouch. Poor Texans.
Also, it came to my attention over the weekend that my birthday is on a Friday this year. Sounds like there’s planning to be done. I’ll prolly need to let loose that that point, since Odyssey will be just about over then.
