Great Comics, and other stuff

First off, go read last week’s VG cats, and today’s Something Positive. They both got quite the chuckle. For very different reasons.

While catching up on DVD’s today (more on that in a bit) I had a chance to work on the Lego Case some. I’ve got a complete base:
Bottom\'s Up

And the lid is done and has Discovery attached:
Straight On
Side View

That’s right, I’m using the space shuttle as a hood ornament, as it were. Now for the hard part. The sides, the hookups, and mounting drives. It might be back to bricklink to get more specialty parts as I play around.

So I watched Batman Begins a second time today, and it still held as damn cool. Except for Katie Holmes, who should be put out of her misery. No one should suffer through sleeping with Tom Cruise. One wonders how Kidman ever coped. Besides all that, her many years on teeny-bopper TV did nothing for her acting skills. She kinda sucks at it. Bale is amazing. When I first heard the casting, I was a little surprised, since he hadn’t done much since American Psycho (also an amazing one.) Then there were pictures. And it was cool. Then I read that the naysayers should see Equilibrium, as the action sequences in that show off his skill. I did, and the action was pretty bad ass. The rest of the movie stunk. Also, Gary Oldman makes just about the perfect Jim Gordon. Then again, Gary Oldman is amazing in lots of stuff.

Movie #2 on the day was True Romance, an action filled crime caper written by Quentin Tarantino. It’s got an amazing cast, and so many people that weren’t big when it was made that are big now. There are some great great scenes. Some pretty fugly violence, but its somewhat beautifully savage. Maybe I’m just warped, but that scene between James Gandolfini and Patricia Arquette is absolutely mind blowing.

Hmm.. What else to cover. Creativity Kickoff went off without a hitch. Early morning, but most of mine are these days. I had a good time, and I think we left a lot of new coaches a little less in the dark about what they’ve gotten themselves into.

Redskins kicked all ass yesterday, but It was the Niners, so it really doesn’t count. I’d like to be able to do that to the Eagles, or any other team in the NFC east for that matter.

The Element needs to go in for its first Oil change, if I go by contemporary mindsets. Not if I go by the owner’s manual, and I’m not sure which I’ll believe.

Oh, and there is another story brewing here in FerretLand, but I’m gonna wait till I have all sorts of time to post that one. Or at least some sort of outcome. This is the only hint I’ll give out, for now:
