So the season starts ok.
I realize that most would see an Opening Day victory a good thing, I see it as mediocre. Our defense? Great. This is nothing new, except that Arrington is healthy, which is a big plus. The offense? We had two quarterbacks in the game, and neither looked real impressive. Brunell made some nice drives, but no real production points wise. Plus, the fact that Brunell stayed in even when Ramsey was cleared to go back in after he got clothes-lined by a Chicago defender leads to a brewing quarterback controversy. Personally, I don’t care who plays, so long as they can move the ball, and get into the end zone, more importantly. The one upside to the 3 field goals means one other plus - we actually have a kicker than can kick - as opposed to the 15 different crap kickers we’ve recycled in the last few years.
I guess in a way it was a good old fashioned Joe Gibbs win. Wasn’t an exciting win, but had some moments of thrills. Besides, I can take a unbeaten record anytime, even if it is the first week.
